Reference: DEN-01 "Camp Djurs 2008 - Danish Environment and Nature"
Offer: The Rotary Clubs of Ebeltoft, Grenaa, Grenaa Djurs, Roende and Rosenholm invite you to their summer camp.
Accommodation: The first 10 days will include home stays in local Rotary homes giving an insight to the standard of living in Denmark. It is planned that this will be followed by a two night “survival tour” living in tents on the small island of Anholt, between Denmark and Sweden followed by two nights in a Youth Hostel. All the camp members will be expected to participate in cooking, cleaning etc.
Dates: Saturday 2nd August to Saturday 16th August 2008
Age Group and Gender: 1M or 1F aged 18 to 22 at the start of the camp.
Cost: Return travel to the camp plus pocket money and insurance. Participants should arrive at Aarhus railway station or Grenaa railway station or at Aarhus (Tirstrup).
Insurance and Official papers: You will require insurance against illness, accident, third party claims and luggage loss. You must be able to provide evidence of insurance to the organisers.
Programme:

The camp will take place in a particularly beautiful area of Jutland east of Aarhus “The world's smallest big city”.

The stated purposes of Camp Djurs are to:-
1. Bring together young people from various countries and cultures
2. Help young people understand each other and different cultures better
3. Create lasting friendships across cultural and geographical borders
4. Help develop better international understanding and tolerance
5. Show young people Danish culture and the Danish way of life

In both weeks there will be excursions to places of interest for example organic farming and forestry, open sea fishing and a visit to a museum, but also more fun like a canoe tour and amusement park might be included.

The aim of the camp is to provide a good deal of knowledge about Denmark and what has been done to protect the environment in this country.

Closing Date: No closing date has been given but the camp is limited to 20 people. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
